Performance Dashboards Running a business is a lot like flying a complex aircraft. Managers need critical information about the performance of all aspects of their business on a timely basis, just as the pilot of a complex aircraft relies on his instrument panel. The key is to select and monitor measures that reflect critical strategic initiatives and value drivers so the firm can achieve its goal for long term value creation. When the use of effective dashboards is coupled with other tools to improve business performance, the results are impressive.
